The National Weather Service in Charleston, West Virginia will be hosting a public open house in its new facility on Saturday, September 16, 2023. This event will be free to the public and will not only feature a chance to tour our forecast office but also get to meet other agencies located in and around the area. Tours will begin at 10 AM and will end at 2 PM.
Tickets will be required to tour the office but not for the activities in the parking lot. A separate ticket will be required if you wish to take part in one of our Weather Spotter Classes being held the day of the Open House.
Click on the Register section of this webpage to order and print up your tour and/or Spotter Talk tickets. Tours will begin every half hour starting in the Science on a Sphere room and continuing onward into the Weather Forecast Office. Please be aware there could be delays when waiting for your tour and please line up for tour at least 15 minutes ahead of time. If tickets are unavailable for a tour, people are still welcome to come explore the booths outside without a ticket.

This event will provide an opportunity for the public to visit the forecast office and interact with not only the meteorologists, but other core partners that work day to day with the NWS. We hope to see you there!
